We'll begin by getting you familiar with Excel's menu system, how to create formulas and use simple functions, how to format your data for appearance sake, how to use printing and charting capabilities of Excel, how to work with. Create, view, edit, and share your spreadsheets using Excel for Mac. 32-bit environment is subject to 2 gigabytes (GB) of virtual address space, shared by Excel, the workbook, and add-ins that run in the same process. A data model's share of the address space might run up to 500 – 700 megabytes (MB), but could be less if other data models and add-ins are loaded. Open the file you want to view. Click File Info Version history. Select a version to open it in a separate window. If you want to restore a previous version you've opened, select Restore.

Microsoft Excel has been around since 1982, first introduced as Multiplan, a very popular CP/M (Control Program for Microcomputers), but lost popularity on MS-DOS systems to Lotus 1-2-3. Microsoft Multiplan (1982)
Before Microsoft Excel existed, there was Microsoft Multiplan. Multiplan was created to compete against Visicalc and Lotus 1-2-3, which were the popular spreadsheet apps at the time. Although it was released for a variety of computing platforms, such as the Apple II, CP/M, MS-DOS, Macintosh, Xenix, Commodore 64, TI-99/4A, and TRS-80, it never reached critical mass in the market.
